Blue Hard Polishing Pad 150 x 25 mm – Cutting

Classic shape, professional cutting. The classic shape professional buffing pad is characterised by its high quality and precision performance. It is made from high-quality materials, making it suitable for repeated use.

For cutting compounds, wet or dry. It is designed for machine polishing and buffing of automotive paints and coatings of various types, in conjunction with coarse polishing compounds. It can be used for both wet and dry applications, with a speed range of between 600 and 2,600 rpm. The Blue Hard pad is the cutting step of the range – refine afterwards with the Yellow Medium Soft Pad and finish with the Black Soft Pad. Need a larger pad? See the Blue Hard Pad 165 x 25 mm.

ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES.

How to Use

  1. Attach the pad centrally to your Velcro backing plate.
  2. Apply a cutting compound to the pad – wet or dry.
  3. Polish at 600–2,600 rpm, one section at a time, then refine with a softer pad.

Pro tip: after use, clean out residue with a pad cleaning brush and a cleaning solution, rinse thoroughly with clean water and wring out.

Good to Know

What is a buffing pad used for? These pads are generally used for light to moderate paint correction and are capable of removing light swirls, scratches and oxidation. They can also be used for applying polishes and cleaner waxes.

What is the difference between buffing and polishing pads? The main difference is the level of abrasion used. Buffing is more aggressive and uses an abrasive compound to clear away marks and scratches, while polishing is less intense and uses a smoother abrasive to create a shiny, reflective surface. For a complete set covering every stage, see our Set of 4 Classic OCF Pads.

How often should you change buffing pads? If you buff the car just once or twice a year, you can use your pads for two to three years.
