Even after a thorough wash, paint can feel rough to the touch. That roughness is bonded contamination – iron particles, tar, tree sap, overspray, bird dropping and bug residue – that dulls the gloss and stops waxes and coatings bonding properly. Soft99 Surface Smoother lifts it all away, leaving the paint glass-smooth and ready for polishing, waxing or coating.

At 300g it's an extra-large bar, so it goes a long way. You can cut it into smaller pieces and keep a fresh piece in reserve in case one gets dropped.

How to Use

1. Wash the car thoroughly to remove sand and grit.
2. Cut off a piece of clay and knead it by hand until soft, then flatten it into a palm-sized patty.
3. Keep the surface well lubricated with water or diluted car shampoo. Never use clay on a dry surface.
4. Glide the clay gently back and forth over a small area. Let the clay do the work – no pressure needed. You'll feel it go from grabby to smooth as the contamination is removed.
5. When the clay face gets dirty, fold and knead it to expose a fresh surface.
6. Rinse the panel, then follow up with a polish, wax or sealant.

Tip: if you drop the clay on the ground, throw that piece away. It will pick up grit that can scratch the paint.
